November This is a busy time in first grade as we rehearse and present our play, On Our Way. Check out Our Play album for photos. First graders learn about American Indians of long ago and enjoy doing research on Indian dwellings, visiting Henricus Indian site, making crafts, reading stories, creating model homes, making regalia and learning songs and dances for our American Indian Celebration. We were fortunate to have a visit from Native American expert and upper school teacher, Marc Reynolds. He demonstrated starting a fire and shooting a bow and arrow. He even brought bread he made from ground acorns. Enjoy photos of our newest Student Readers and a visit from our 5th grade Bridge Buddy boys from Mrs. Shadowen's class.
