Economics
During story time, we read books and discuss those with an economic theme. In April, we will borrow money to start our own class business, create a product (notepaper) to sale, and donate the profits to the SPCA. We will also enjoy a First Grade Book Swap. It will provide an opportunity for the children to trade and recycle books. We look forward to the end of the year class Flea Market. What a great chance for children to make purchasing choices, count coins, make change, and make decisions about saving, spending or donating to a good cause. The children may choose to donate the proceeds from their individual desk Flea Markets to the Collegiate Honduras connection and help an orphanage there.
